Three players are committed to preventing risks of collision engine/pieton on construction sites

The Professional Body for the Prevention of Building and Public Works (OPPBTP), T2S, a company specialized in high-visibility protection equipment and KILOUTOU, a contractor for construction equipment, have just signed a technical cooperation agreement with the aim of improve prevention on the risk of vehicle / pedestrian collision. This agreement is based on the implementation of an experimental test protocol for the ELEKSEN / KARE solution, a vehicle / pedestrian detection system designed by T2S and rented by KILOUTOU. Objective: develop a strategy to reduce the risk of vehicle / pedestrian collision and make it accessible to as many people as possible.

Numerous technical progress has been made on new equipment and driver training. A major concern is that the collision between vehicles and pedestrians on construction sites requires action and innovation to protect all professionals in the sector.

To prevent this risk and reduce the number of accidents on construction sites, KILOUTOU offers, in partnership with the manufacturer T2S, a device for preventing vehicle-pedestrian collisions: KARE. Based on shared vigilance, KARE is a connected solution with two-way alerts to ensure security and visibility on sites and sites. When a worker equipped with a connected vest is introduced into the risk zone set up around the machine, the driver is alerted by a visual and audible alarm of the intrusion.

At the same time, the pedestrian is warned of being endangered by an audible alarm, the vibration of his vest and the red flashing of the 11 high-brightness LEDs positioned on his PPE. The commitment of the two actors with the OPPBTP is a further step in the process of risk prevention, reduction of accidents on site and improvement of working conditions.

Signed for a period of 3 years, the agreement provides for four successive stages of work:

  • The development of an experimental test protocol for the KARE system, shared with professionals in the construction industry.
  • Development of the technical solution in line with the requirements of the field, powered by feedback, in order to increase its performance
  • Supporting users, in order to promote accessibility and ownership of the system by professional actors (awareness, training, learning).
  • It is agreed by the Parties that the conclusions of the joint work will be published. Indeed, one of the main interests of this agreement is to pool the contribution of the work for the benefit of the entire profession.

With this agreement, the OPPBTP, T2S and KILOUTOU wish to mobilize as many as possible for prevention and safety on construction sites.
