Specialist tool and plant hire group Kiloutou has arranged its first sustainability-linked Loan with LCL. The facility marks Kiloutou’s first step in the sustainable finance sector.
During the unprecedented world crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Kiloutou demonstrated its capacity to adapt and its determination to pursue its long-term strategic goals: accelerate its digital transformation, maintain growth momentum and ramp up its environmental transition.
Equipment rental specialist and engaged in a CSR policy since 2014, Kiloutou announces the implementation of a new environmental strategy aiming to reduce by 40% its direct emissions of CO2 by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality in 2050.
The Kiloutou Group has just acquired MC LOC, a company specialized in the rental of modular buildings, located in Normandy and a subsidiary of the manufacturer Martin Calais. This transaction enables Kiloutou to pursue the deployment of its Module activity on a national level. Kiloutou Module now possesses 9 agencies in France.
In the context of government announcements relating to the new health measures put in place in response to the Covid-19 crisis, the 420 Kiloutou branches in France will remain open to support construction professionals. The equipment-rental specialist is expanding its transport fleet, which already numbers 700 vehicles, to provide a delivery service for small equipment to construction sites.
KILOUTOU SIGNALISATION, the first subsidiary created from scratch by KILOUTOU, offers a comprehensive range of signage and protection products combined with a wide-ranging set of services to ensure the safety of public and private construction sites and events.
As soon as the construction industry picked up, KILOUTOU has made an undertaking to professionals to offer them new complementary services. Today, KILOUTOU develops once more its offer of services to concretely adapt to the efficiency and flexibility needs of the sector.
Intended for international professional traders (brokers), the KILOUTOU online sales platform allows it to organise calls for tender for its second-hand equipment from French and European agencies. A dozen private sales will be organised each year, each of them representing a volume of almost 400 items of equipment.
Because delivering equipment is known to top the list when it comes to direct carbon emissions, KILOUTOU is reinforcing its eco-friendly actions by renewing its transport fleet with clean vehicles. KILOUTOU thus becomes the first rental company to offer to deliver equipment to sites by rigid lorries running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Its fleet of light vehicles is also evolving, integrating CNG-powered 12-m3 vans to deliver small items of equipment; hybrid and electric cars are provided for the sales force.
